A compact shrub single or mujltistemmed with papery bark. Fresh light green foliage and bright new red stems display the large dense crimson in spring-summer. Very attractive tohoney eating birds. Loves full sun or lght shade. Hardy in most to wet clay loams or sandy soils and will tolerate seasonaly dryness. Thrives in climnates ranging from cool temp to sub tropical and semi arid. Frost hardy. Second line coastal.
Plant as a specimen or in groups, around pools or for screening: in streetscapes and open parkland. Very showy and eye-cathcing display in ay langscape, and perfect flora for fauna.
