‘Yellow Imp’TM grows to around 3m tall by 2m wide. It has soft grey green foliage with brilliant canary yellow flowers in late winter to mid spring. It is a hardy plant that will grow in a wide range of conditions from the cooler, temperate regions of Tasmania to the warm sub tropical parts of southern Queensland and in the dry Mediterranean climtaes of WA and SA. It is a quick grower and should be given an annual prune and feed with Osmocote to maintain its appearance. This should be done after flowering.
Genista x spachiana ‘Yellow Imp’TM is an excellent specimen plant, a stunning hedge will grow well in a tub or an eye catching standard for the formal courtyard. As a garden plant it contrasts well with the blues of Ceanothus ‘Blue Pacific’ and Ceratostigma wilmotianum. It also makes a good backdrop to either Rosmarinus ‘Majorca Pink’ or a mass planting of Lavandula ‘Avonview’
