There are more than 900 species of Salvia.  Salvia microphylla is from Mexico and Arizona. ‘Hot Lips’ has flowers from Spring to winter some being entirely white, some completely red, and most bicolor. It will grow in part shade but full sun will produce better flowering.  It grows to 90 cm tall by 60cm and is an hardy shrub, tolerant of moderate frosts and dry periods.  An annual prune and feed with Osmocote Outdoor Trees and Shrubs will keep it looking good.  Plant with any of Lavandula ‘Pippa White’, Lavandula x intermedia  ‘Grosso’ Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Salem’ and  Salvia x jamensis ‘La Luna’
