There are more than 900 species of Salvia, and ‘Anthony Parker’ is an hybrid of S. leucantha and S. elegans discovered by Frances Parker from South Carolina. It is a large shrub growing to around 1.2m tall and 1.4m wide with attractive grey green foliage and deep blue purple flowers from mid summer to first frost. It prefers part to full sun, well drained soil and is tolerant of moderate frosts. Feed with Osmocote Outdoor Trees and Shrubs and prune once a year.
Anthony Parker is attractive as a border plant, a mass planting or a specimen plant. Plant with a selection of Lavandula, Rosmarinus and grey leaved Salvia.
