‘Mother of Pearl’ is an upright shrub with delightful soft mauve flowers on long stems in late summer and early autumn.  The foliage is a greyish green and the shrub grows to approximately 75 cm in height and 50cm in width.  Penstemon ‘Mother of Pearl’ prefers a sunny aspect with moist but well drained soil.  It will tolerate moderate frosts and some shade. A medium prune and feed with Osmocote Outdoors Trees & Shrubs after flowering will keep the plant compact and healthy.

Penstemons are a great addition to any garden.  They can be used as a specimen plant, tub plant, en masse for an eye catching effect or even as a low hedge.  They look good interplanted with spring flowering perennials like Lavandula ‘Pippa White’, Campanula ‘Bernice’, or with other Penstemons like ‘Osprey’, ‘Blackbird’, and Firebird

Penstemon ‘Mother of Pearl’ is one of a range of Penstemons collected from around the world by Larkman Nurseries.  Collect a range to add color and variety to your garden.
