‘Duke of Burgundy’ has deep burgundy flowers. They come from hand selected deep burgundy parents which means that 95% will come true. They grow to 40 to 50 cm tall and will spread over a square metre in a couple of years. Plant en masse for the best effect but they can also be grown as specimen plants or even in patio tubs. Plant with Heucheras and Hydrangeas for year round color. Alternatively interplant with Clivia, Dianella, Arthropodium or dwarf Agapanthus for a mixture of form and color.
Helleborus x hybridus ‘Duke of Burgundy’ requires little effort to keep them performing and growing well. Give them an annual feed with Osmocote Slow Release in late spring. Remove the spent flowers prior to seed set and trim off any ratty leaves. It is not necessary but will give you a better floral display if most of the leaves are trimmed back during early winter.
